Why Security Services Block Kaduna State House
Armed policemen and representatives of other security
services have sealed the premises of the Kaduna State House of Assembly
on October 14, 2014, Thursday.
This has been confirmed by a staff of the assembly who contacted SaharaReporters. The policemen who entered the building explained the move by “security reasons”.
However, the informed source insisted that the action of sealing the complex was the “instruction from above”. This order has been given for alleged preventing the likely impeachment of the Speaker of the Assembly, Shehu Tahir.
The speaker is known for his loyalty to both Governor Mukhtar Ramallan Yero and the Vice President Namadi Sambo.
At the same time, the lawmakers at the Kaduna State House of Assembly denied impeachment rumours.
“We are comfortable with the leadership of the Assembly and we pledge our loyalty and support to the speaker and all principal officers. In this direction therefore, I wish to move that we pass a vote of confidence on the leadership of this House,” David Umar, representing Kachia constituency, told DailyTrust reporter.

It would be added that security has been beefed up at the Government House in Kaduna to look out for other potential threats.
It would be recalled that the incumbent governor of the state on October 8, 2014, expressed his interest to run for re-election in 2015 on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). A couple of weeks earlier Yero was among other PDP governors who endorsed President Goodluck Jonathan to seek second term in Aso Rock come 2015.
