Busted Arms Deal: Kwankwaso Attacks Jonathan
By Nkem Ikeke, source: naij.com, Re-posted by Abdulgafar Abdulrauf Adio (www.econsforumnews.blogspot.com) Following the recent seizure of another $5.7m by
South African authorities, Kano state governor Rabiu Musa Kwakwanso has
said the President Goodluck Jonathan-led administration is not being
sincere in its defence of the arms deal.
The governor who spoke on Thursday, October 9, in Ado-Ekiti after the public presentation of two laws-Ekiti Magistrate Court Law 2014 and Administration of Criminal Justice 2014-by his counterpart from Lagos, Raji Fashola (SAN), said the $9.3m and $5.7m seized by the South African authority under the guise of procuring arms and ammunition to fight insurgency, contravened established rules and guidelines.
According to Punch report, Kwankwaso explained that the said procurement of arms is a clear violation of the due process.
