Mosun Filani has been engrossed with her job that most time she forgets the section of the media to re-address issues surrounding her… recently, there was aproko that her husband, Kayode Oduoye was tired of her busyness in Nollywood that he has banned her from acting, this is one gist Mosun will not sit down and swallow without difficulty, she has come out to say that this is a rubbish report by a blog, she really got a lot of issues she has addressed not forgetting the one that said she was late.

She said “That's strange o! How can anybody say I am dead when I am still alive? It's a wicked rumour, and I believe it emanated from enemies of progress. I am not even sick, let alone dying. The rumour is weighty, and it can never be my portion in Jesus name. I believe you can recognize my voice that I am the one speaking with you. That alone shows that it's a fake and useless rumour. I am alive, hale and hearty, enjoying my marriage. I will advise those behind it to spend their valuable time on something meaningful”

She laughed at the gist that her husband has banned her… My husband never banned me from acting. The truth is that after my marriage, I decided to take things easy and concentrate on my home front rather than career. Work is there forever, I can continue at any time I like. My husband doesn't disturb my career. Our marriage has also been blessed with a baby girl, Oluwashemilore. She was just one year old in November this year. Everything concerning my marriage has to be given special attention before any other thing. But very soon, I will stage a big come back. I am still very much in the industry”

Good to know that Mosun is not dead and still acting.

Eagles will win 2014 World Cup if… –Guru Maharaj Ji

Click for Full Image Size

In what appears to be a dicey pronouncement which many may want to question, the Spiritual Leader of One Love Family, Satguru Maharaj Ji, who against all odds predicted victory for the Super Eagles at last Nation's Cup has again stirred the hornet's nest with his prediction that Nigeria will lift the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

He made the comment in his Spiritual Village, Ibadan while speaking with our correspondent during an exclusive interview on plans to mark his spiritual birthday on January 1, 2014.

However, his latest prediction was predicated on some conditions. “I have said it and nothing will change it. If the Super Eagles handler, Stephen Keshi, shows more love to Maharaj Ji, the true name of the Almighty. He will lead the team to victory that will shock the world.

“I want him and top shots of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to visit Maharaj Ji Village and let us have a discussion. Let them come and put Maharaj Ji's power to test. I cannot be here and Nigeria won't be able to conquer the world.

“I told them before that Eagles will win the Nation's Cup and so it was. The powers of Chukwujekwukwu will touch the players again and they will have strength to run faster as children of the light than any other team at the tournament. Nigerians should come and avail themselves of the opportunity of the power now.

“Keshi should humble himself more. I foresee the cup coming to Nigeria in 2014. Nigerians should stop doubting because the Living Perfect Master is talking. I think by now government in its own wisdom would have shown appreciation to me for the victory of Eagles at the last Nation's Cup. They should know that it is only by encouraging me that they receive more,”

Satguru Maharaj Ji said. “Gone are the days when Africans were rated as push over in football. “Today, the black man is leading the world spiritually. That is why I am here as the Messiah of this era. Let the people try the power in Maharaj Ji Village and see if they will not be marveled.

“The players, particularly the goal keeper, should avoid wearing blue jersey which was one of the things that caused initial problems for the team during the Nation's Cup before an NFF top shot got across to me to intercede. Blue is the colour of mermaid. That is not ideal for any progressive development.

“I have said it loud and clear that the cup is within reach and definitely it will come to Nigeria if the sports administrators and the coaches take the advantage. I cautioned Samson Siasia, the former Eagles' handler, but he retorted saying 'is Satguru God'? That affected him and he was booted out. However, not only the Super Eagles, tell other national teams to come and receive the power to excel and it shall be well with them at any tournament.”

Tourists and residents of Calabar have trouped out in their hundreds to watch the Carnival Calabar reputed to be Africa's biggest street party.

Some tourists, who spoke to NAN in Calabar said that the festival ranked among the best in Africa.

Mr Christian Harry, a tourist from Lagos, said he was impressed with the activities so far on display.

'Despite the high cost of hotel accommodation and traffic; the festival promises to be a memorable one for me and my family members.

'After one year of work, it's nice to give one's wife and children a treat and spend quality time with them in an atmosphere of festivity,' he said.

Harry, however, said the traffic situation had affected his plans to further explore the city.

Asuquo said that she was impressed with the cultural display so far and commended the state government for the initiative.

Film posters withdrawn over race bias

12 Years A Slave Unofficial posters in Italy promoted Fassbender (left) over the film's protagonist Ejiofor (right)
An Italian film distributor has apologised after releasing unauthorised posters which promoted white actors over black actors in 12 Years A Slave.
Unofficial posters for the film gave prominence to white stars Michael Fassbender and Brad Pitt over the film's leading man, Chiwetel Ejiofor.
BiM Distribuzione apologised for the "inappropriate" promotional material.
"We are very proud of the film and regret any distraction this incident may have caused," a statement said.
"We apologise for creating and releasing unauthorised posters for 12 Years A Slave in Italy featuring Brad Pitt and Michael Fassbender in a manner inconsistent with approved advertising materials," said BiM on Friday.
"All inappropriate materials have now been withdrawn."
The film tells the true story of New Yorker Solomon Northup who was kidnapped and sold into the slave trade in 1841.
'Immediate action'
Protagonist Northup is played by British actor Ejiofor, earning him a Golden Globe nomination earlier this month.
Fassbender, who has attracted strong notices for his supporting role, plays a sadistic plantation owner, while Pitt - who is a producer on the film - has a minor role as a labourer.
The posters, which appeared across Italy earlier this week, prompted a widespread criticism on social media, for their focus on Fassbender and Pitt.
Responding to criticism, sales agent Lionsgate's Summit said, earlier in the week, that the posters in Italy were not authorised or approved by the producers of the film.
A statement said the company was "investigating and taking immediate action to stop the distribution of any unauthorised posters and to have those posters currently in the marketplace recalled".
Directed by Britain's Steve McQueen, 12 Years A Slave is the frontrunner at this year's Golden Globe awards with seven nominations, including best film drama, best actor in a drama and best director.

President Barack Obama turned 52 on Sunday, celebrating part of his birthday at Camp David after spending Saturday golfing with friends.
The White House didn't say exactly how the commander in chief celebrated his birthday, issuing a happy birthday that included a vintage photo of a then-43-year-old Obama:
That left the White House pool report understandably thin upon his return.

"Marine One touched down at 1:58 and he was back in the White House by 2," the National Journal's George Condon wrote in his Sunday pool report. "[Obama] was wearing a casual jacket and an open-collared blue shirt. When someone shouted 'Happy Birthday,' he smiled and waved, one of several waves toward the cameras as he entered the White House. No birthday cakes or party hats were evident."

Obama's birthday celebration actually began last week, when a group of American Legion students sang "Happy Birthday" to the president during a visit to the East Room:

Meanwhile, Organizing for Action, the non-profit advocacy group, asked supporters to sign an e-card for the president and, of course, to donate money to its progressive agenda.

It wasn't a total birthday respite for Obama, however. Earlier Sunday, Susan Rice, the president's National Security Advisor, met with top FBI and counterterrorism officials to review the threat that led to the closure of 21 U.S. embassies and consulates over the weekend.

The White House said the president has been receiving frequent briefings from Rice and Lisa Monaco, assistant to the President for Homeland Security and Counterterrorism, on the potential threat. Obama was briefed by Rice and Monaco after Sunday's meeting.

Chairman AGN: “Funke Akindele’s Marriage Was Never Meant To Be”

FunkeAndHusband
The dust has settled on the issue of Nollywood actress Funke Akindele’s failed marriage; however Chairman of the Actors Guild of Nigeria FCT Chapter, Mr. Onwurah Agility has made remarks about Funke Akindele’s break-up from her husband, Mr Kehinde Oloyede.
He said:
“Marriage in Nollywood is not different from other marriages. But because we are the mirror of the society, the face of the screen and role models to many, if there is a problem in our marriage, it makes noise more than any other. There are many people in the industry that have been married for many years without separating……….What happened to Funke (Akindele) is unfortunate but like she said, may be they were not to be husband and wife and she has learnt her lessons. It could have been anybody…………The theory and stories that actors’ marriages don’t last are very wrong. I have been married for five years and still counting, likewise so many other actors in the industry,”.

Tourism: Philippines Allows Nationals From 151 Countries Visa-free Entry, Excludes Nigeria, Egypt

Philippines_Tourism
In a bid to boost tourist visits, the Philippines has extended visa-free stays from the previous 21 days to 30 days for nationals of 151 countries.
Under an arrangement between Bureau of Immigration and the Department of Tourism, foreign nationals from 151 countries can enter the country without a visa, acting Immigration Chief Siegfred Mison said.
“Nationals from a list of 151 countries whose nationals may enter the Philippines without a visa for a stay not exceeding thirty days under Executive Order (E.O.) 408, provided these foreign nationals are holders of a passport valid at least six months, beyond the period of stay in the Philippines and return or outward bound tickets to country of origin or next country of destination,” Mison said.
Countries listed on the visa-free entry list include nearly all of the world’s nations except for some such as Afghanistan, Algeria, Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Libya, Lebanon, Jordan, Pakistan, India, Sudan, Syria, Palestine, Yemen, East Timor, Nigeria and 31 others — as well as stateless persons.
The Bureau of Immigration said Indian nationals could also apply for a visa in any country that requires entry visas to Indian nationals
Mison said the visa-free entry privilege scheme would be implemented starting August.
Foreigners who are subject of deportation and blacklist orders exempted from the programme.
Earlier, the Department of Tourism announced that it is targeting tourist arrivals to reach 10 million for 2013. Tourist visits to the Philippines from January to December 2012 reached 4.6 million, which is higher by nine per cent from the previous year.
Officials had cited that many foreign tourists who had visited the country last year opted to stay longer or beyond the period of their visa.
From January to December last year the Bureau of Immigrations visa extension office processed and approved a total of 172,055 applications for extension of stay by foreign tourists.
The number of approved visa extensions in 2012 was 13 per cent higher than the 151,913 applications for extension of stay the bureau approved in 2011.

Funke Akindele releases official statement, confirms separation from husband

Funke Akindele and Kehinde Oloyede got married Saturday May 26th 2012.
Nollywood actress and celebrity, Funke Akindele, popularly known as Jenifa, has admitted a break-up announced by her husband, Kehinde Oloyede, Tuesday this week.
They were married for only one year.
“…We want to formally inform you that after due consultation and consideration, she’s now separated from Mr. Kehinde Oloyede as his wife,” Ayo Ola- Muhammed, her publicist, announced in an official statemnet late Friday.
Dead on arrival
A reliable PREMIUM TIMES source revealed in Lagos Tuesday that the marriage between Funke and Kehinde was shaky from the start, adding that the marriage was, in any case, ”dead on arrival.”
News of the failed marriage first broke when Kehinde Oloyede announced the separation between himself and the actress via a post on Facebook.
“It’s with heavy heart that am announcing the separation of me nd ma wife Mrs Olufunke Akindele, we’ve both agreed to go our separate ways coz of irreconcilable difference. We still best of friends nd we 4ever remain gud friends”.
“Am doing just fine, gettn along without u,don’t need u anymore in ma life.u d greatest mistake av made in recent time”, Kehinde Oloyede added in the post.
Around the same time, Funke Akindele changed her Blackberry Message name from ‘Mrs Funke Akindele Oloyede’ to ‘Everyone loves Jenifa’.
In the cloudy and magical environment of Nollywood, real events tend to take on mystical dimension, and the Akindele-Oloyede marriage has not been immune from that trend.
“Funke Akindele believes the marriage between her and Kehinde was made possible through the use of voodoo,” the source said of the yet another incidence of Nollywood’s high brow marital collapse.
“Funke Akindele believes that Kehinde Oloyede used charm to marry here, and Funke herself simply could no longer cope with the marriage again as a result of many women in Oloyede’s life, and the string of kids showing up from different women …the union was dead on arrival.”
The source also says Funke allowed the separation to come from her husband because of her celebrity status, and the need to manage popular perception about celebrities.
Efforts to speak with Funke Akindele were not successful as calls placed to her telephone lines were not successful. Posted by Abdulgafar
