That is why we have that good union."
Speaking further on why his wife and children have always been in the background, he said, "It is part of the reason, that is how we actually balance the equation, we try not to be all up in everybody face, everybody now knows my family and they can say this about her and about me that's the beautiful way to actually keep it. Uche Jombo: Actress writes on Buhari's wife calling Edo women 'prostitutes'

09:54 Unknown 0 Comments

"I have never taken money from any political party because I don’t EVER want to loose my right to question people about their statements" - Uche Jombo
 Uche Jombo
Nollywood actress, Uche Jumbo calls out Buhari's wife, Aisha Buhari, for calling Edo women prostitues.
Aisha recently held a campaign rally for her husband in Edo State where she described the women of Edo State, as “prostitutes” .
In her statement, she said her husband’s administration will stop the prostitution by Edo women abroad.
Uche took to her official Facebook page to address the statement. Here is what she wrote;
"Please NOTE this is not about APC / PDP or who you are voting…..(file under what we shouldn’t use to campaign as girl – child trafficking is an advocacy I support and can tell you it’s sensitive ) this was sent to me.
Mrs Aisha Buhari during an interactive session in London
Concerning Nigerian gender activists have called on the women of Edo State to forgive the unguarded comments recently credited to Mrs. Aisha Buhari, wife of the APC Presidential Candidate, General Muhammadu Buhari.
Mrs. Buhari had in a campaign rally for her husband’s presidential bid in Edo State over the weekend had described the women of Edo State, as “prostitutes” claiming her husband’s administration will stop the prostitution by Edo women abroad.
In a swift response to Mrs. Buhari on Monday in Benin, Sarah Obozuwa, Founder of the Edo Women for Change (EWC) called on Edo women to forgive Mrs. Buhari.
“Aisha Buhari was born on September 29, 1979. As of today, Mrs. Buhari is only 35 years of age. She was married to Buhari in August 13, 1989, at the age of 9.
This means that Buhari at age 47, in 1989 was having sex with Aisha Buhari at the tender age of 9, an underage according to the constitution of Nigeria. So Mrs. Buhari is a victim of sustained childhood rape and her outbursts are understandable”, she said.
Speaking further, Mrs. Obozuwa said:
“How Buhari got Aisha Buhari pregnant at age 13 is a chilling story of a Buhari who defiled Aisha as a little child while she was visiting Zulai, Buhari’s eldest daughter who was her playmate. It is ironic how such a traumatized woman now stands at the vanguard of stigmatizing fellow women.”
As a supporter of all advocacy for women. … be it domestic violence, child marriage, women rights or what have you.i stay out of politics but… i shared the last post when I saw it and made my research… i repeat I don’t care about APC or PDP …
I have never taken money from any political party because I don’t EVER want to loose my right to question people about their statements and if the first lady made that statement I will still post it as i don’t like using stereotypical term in addressing ‘issues’ ….
if you insult me on my page I will simply block you and not sweat it but it wouldn’t stop me from sharing my thoughts and beliefs or my love for A better Nigeria.you are free to Google the speech.‪#‎UJR - She wrote.

May D: Singer allegedly beats his baby mama frequently

09:46 Unknown 0 Comments

According to reports from Mr May D's baby mama, she is a victim of domestic violence, inflicted upon her by her singer boyfriend.
 May D's baby mama
Popular Ile Ijo singer May D whose real name is Mayokun Awodumila allegedly beats up his baby mama Debola.
Debola who is the mother of May D's 2-year-old son Olamipoju sent Linda Ikeji a tell-all email about the domestic violence she suffered by the hand of May D.

May D and son
Read it here:
"My name is Debola I’m sure you know who I am, you put me on ur blog about 3yrs ago, for tattooing a Nigerian artist name on my body, I’m MayD’s baby Mama… I haven’t come here to rant or make noise, but to say some important things that I feel people should know. I will try to make my story as short as possible.
I was with MayD for 8years, which implies we were together from the get-go, before his career began and when nobody knew him obviously. For many years I stayed with him, obviously as his girlfriend, I supported him, financially, physically and emotionally. Back then when I was in Babcock we passed through loads of hurdles together being that he was struggling and incapable of providing for himself and I was obliged to supporting him financially. Even when it was extreme, like giving him a semester’s tuition to pay for studio sessions while I stupidly stayed at home, the things we do for love right?I practically paused my life for him, for us at a point. The sad part about this whole thing is that I never got tired I did everything that was within my reach. He stopped to cater for his kid a while ago, which I took responsibilities for and started to do diligently..
Now, like most relationships we had major problems which included the frequent cheating  and escapades with girls which I obviously endured as I was consumed by the “main chick” title. Not that I was even getting any good thing in return,  he never for one day acknowledge me, or made me feel like we were in a relationship together. I had no simple freedom to do whatsoever on my own, be it business, friendship etc.
The thing I couldn’t cope with was the fact that he beat me up at every slightest opportunity he had, he beats me up like a man, he beat me up so badly infront of our little boy all the time. He assaulted me regularly, I suffered domestic violence in silence, and this last time he beat me up so badly and I passed out.. I saw my life flash right infront of me. I witnessed been close to death, I prayed to survive each time he pounced on me, damaging several properties nd breaking diff stuff on my head.
This had to be my last experience, as I thought to myself, who will take care of my child for me if I die in his hands? Who will he call mother? Who will stand by him? So I left the relationship hurriedly without thinking of how much time, energy, resources that must have been wasted….
PS( I av my tattoo removed already for those of you that want to comment bullshit)……"

Oshodi Riot Update: How armed OPC members, political thugs terrorized residents

09:40 Unknown 0 Comments

Residents and witnesses say that the men, numbering close to 50, were members of the Oodua People’s Congress (OPC).
Riot breaks out in Oshodi on Thursday, March 26.
Chaos erupted in the Oshodi area of Lagos State on Thursday, March 26, after armed men invaded the area.
Residents and witnesses say that the men, numbering close to 50, were members of the Oodua People’s Congress (OPC).
The gang members wore masks and carried sophisticated weapons with which they shot sporadically into the air, Punch reports.
A vendor, identified as Samuel Ojukwu, told Punch that the attackers were supporters of President Goodluck Jonathan.
“This morning, as I was arranging newspapers on the newsstand, I saw some people running. I didn’t know what was pursuing them, so I sat at the stand,” Ojukwu said.
“Then, these heavily armed men showed up. I started shaking with fright where I sat as they approached my newsstand. The man who led them had two pistols in his side pockets, and held another one in his hand. One of them came to me and said, ‘Baba, don’t be afraid. When you vote on Saturday, vote for Jonathan.’ I was so afraid,” he added.
“Some of the hoodlums wore masks and I believe they are known faces. That was why they covered their faces,” another witness, Ojuolape Obafemi, told Punch.
“They entered into streets and nobody could come out to challenge them. I believe they were OPC members because they wore all kinds of ammunition and amulet,” she added.
Obafemi said further that after the group armed with guns left the area, another group armed with sticks, bottles and cutlasses took over and began to harass passersby.
A bus conductor in the area stated that the riot was connected with the rivalry between the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The violence was later quelled upon the arrival of the police and other security agents.
OPC members had earlier unleashed mayhem on Ikorodu Road in Lagos when they took to the streets to campaign for Jonathan and demand the resignation of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Chairman, Attahiru Jega.

Fire outbreak at Ascon petrol station in Lekki Phase 1.
The management of Ascon Oil has responded to the recent fire outbreak at its Lekki Phase One petrol station.
The fire broke out at the station on Thursday, March 26, and engulfed vehicles parked by the side of the road.
There was however no life lost in the incident, according to a statement released by the management via Facebook.
The statement reads:
“The fire incident at Ascon Oil filling station at Lekki Phase 1 this afternoon has been contained.”
“Contrary to earlier speculations, the main building and the reservoirs are unaffected. The incident emanated from a discharge at the point of offloading product from a tanker, engulfing two tankers and some vehicles parked by the road side.”
“It was an accident compounded by the current fuel scarcity in the country with ASCON OIL being one of the few stations with a reliable steady supply even in times of scarcity.”
“No life was lost to the incident, the pumps are intact and emergency fire service officers were already on site containing the flames as at the time of this report.”
The management of ASCON OIL also reaffirmed its commitment to serving its customers even in the face of accidents.

President Goodluck Jonathan has warned Nigerians not to make the mistake of voting for All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Muhammadu Buhari.
Jonathan also said that voting Buhari is a gamble not worth taking.
The President stated this during an interview with online news platform, The Cable which was published on Thursday, March 26.
“I don’t think Nigerians will make the mistake of voting for Buhari. Gen. Buhari, with due respect, is not the right option for Nigeria at this time. It is a gamble that is not worth taking,” Jonathan said.
“I may not be perfect as nobody is perfect. But I believe that come Saturday, the majority of Nigerian voters will choose me as the best candidate to lead the nation forward,” he added.
The President also said that the opposition party is not as popular as it believes.
“I am not underrating APC, but I think they are grossly overrated. We shall meet on the field. That is where we will test our true strengths. We are fully ready. You will soon see,” Jonathan said.
Jonathan is the candidate for the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Buhari is his major opponent.

Goodluck Jonathan: Read President's national broadcast speech on 2015 elections

09:01 Unknown 0 Comments

Read President Goodluck Jonathan's speech while addressing the nation on the forthcoming 2015 elections which hold tomorrow, March 27, 2015.
 Goodluck Jonathan
Read President Goodluck Jonathan's speech while addressing the nation on the forthcoming 2015 elections which hold tomorrow, March 27, 2015.
As we prepare to go to the polls tomorrow, I have come before you this morning to express my immense appreciation for the opportunity you gave me to lead this great nation of ours in the past four years.
I also wish to place on record, once again, my sincere gratitude for the support you have given my administration without which the significant progress we have made in recent years would not have been possible.
In spite of the many challenges we have had to contend with since 1999, our present democratic dispensation continues to endure and grow stronger in keeping with the yearnings and aspirations of our people.
We have all worked very hard to nurture and strengthen our democratic institutions and promote the good governance practices which they were designed to deliver for the better well-being of  our people.
I believe I can say without fear of contradiction that we all clearly cherish the democracy we now have and will never willingly give it up for any other form of governance.
This much-cherished democracy of ours is about to be put to the test once again.
I urge you all to troop out en-masse to peacefully perform your civic duty of voting for leaders of your choice tomorrow.
As we do so, let us all – political party leaders, contestants, party members, party agents, supporters and ordinary voters alike, be very conscious of the fact that the eyes of the entire world are on us.
We must therefore comport ourselves in a manner that will further strengthen our democracy and consolidate our place in the comity of truly democratic nations.
I made a commitment on assumption of office to progressively deliver freer, fairer and more credible elections in our country. In keeping with that commitment, the Federal Government has given the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) all necessary support to ensure that it conducts very successful elections tomorrow and on April 11.
We have all been assured that INEC is fully ready for the elections. I believe that we can all trust that they are certainly more ready now than they may have been before security issues and other concerns necessitated a re-scheduling of the dates for the 2015 general elections.
As an administration, we welcome the fact that millions of Nigerians who were yet to receive their Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs) as at February 14, and would therefore have been unfairly disenfranchised if the polls had gone ahead  on that date, have seized the opportunity of the re-scheduling to collect their cards and can now exercise their right to vote tomorrow.
We are also glad that our gallant Armed Forces have successfully stemmed the seizure of Nigerian territories in the North-East by the terrorist group, Boko Haram.
They have recaptured most of the communities and territories formerly occupied by the insurgents, making it possible for thousands of internally-displaced Nigerians to begin returning to their homes and communities.
I heartily commend the very courageous men and women of our Armed Forces for the immense sacrifices which they continue to make in defending the nation and protecting its citizens.
I also thank all Nigerians for keeping faith with us over the past six weeks.
I call on all political parties and politicians in the country to allow the free, unfettered will of our people to be expressed without any hindrance in the coming elections in keeping with the hallowed principles and tenets of democratic governance which we all profess.
The will of the people freely expressed through the ballot is the bedrock of all democracies and ours cannot be an exception.
Let us all therefore be prepared, as true democrats, to graciously accept the outcome of the elections as the rightful choice of our people from whom all political powers in our democracy must emanate.
My administration has done its utmost best in the past four years to deliver on our promise to positively transform our country.
Tomorrow’s election is another very important milestone as we continue our march towards the fulfillment of our God-given potential for greatness.
The election offers us another opportunity to empower leaders of our choice once again, and to show the world that genuine democracy is alive and well in our beloved nation.
I will like to restate my belief that no political ambition can justify violence or the shedding of the blood of our people.
I reaffirm once again, my personal preparedness to ensure fair play during the elections and to deploy the resources and institutions of state only in the manner prescribed by our laws.
Let me warn, however, that as President, Commander-In-Chief of the Armed Forces, I am under oath to protect the lives of all Nigerians and the security of our country at all times. I will never abdicate my responsibilities in that regard.
Democracy allows dissent. It encourages differences and even fervent disagreements. But elections must never be mistaken for war or an opportunity to set fellow citizens against each other and tear our beloved nation apart.
Those who may harbor any intentions of testing our will by unleashing violence during the elections in order to advance their political ambitions should think again as all necessary measures have been put in place to ensure that any persons who breach the peace or cause public disorder during or after the elections are speedily apprehended and summarily dealt with according to our laws.
The nation’s security agencies are also fully prepared and ready to deal decisively with any group or persons who attempt to disrupt the peaceful conduct of the elections or cause any form of public disorder.
Our dear country, Nigeria is the largest democracy amongst black nations of the world. We are a nation of great accomplishments, with a proud history of evolving affinities.
Let us go out tomorrow to vote peacefully and set a fitting example of political maturity for other emerging democracies to follow.
I wish you all and our dear nation, very peaceful and successful elections.
May God Almighty continue to bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
I thank you all.
