President Goodluck Jonathan has warned Nigerians not to make the mistake of voting for All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Muhammadu Buhari.
Jonathan also said that voting Buhari is a gamble not worth taking.
The President stated this during an interview with online news platform, The Cable which was published on Thursday, March 26.
“I don’t think Nigerians will make the mistake of voting for Buhari. Gen. Buhari, with due respect, is not the right option for Nigeria at this time. It is a gamble that is not worth taking,” Jonathan said.
“I may not be perfect as nobody is perfect. But I believe that come Saturday, the majority of Nigerian voters will choose me as the best candidate to lead the nation forward,” he added.
The President also said that the opposition party is not as popular as it believes.
“I am not underrating APC, but I think they are grossly overrated. We shall meet on the field. That is where we will test our true strengths. We are fully ready. You will soon see,” Jonathan said.
Jonathan is the candidate for the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Buhari is his major opponent.
