An
M.Sc. Computer Science student of the Covenant
University, Ota, Ogun State, has
been expelled alongside two other students for sex-related offences.
Their expulsions were announced recently during the Chapel service.
Student
Pulse gathered that the unnamed postgraduate
student was allegedly recorded by a CCTV while having sex with a 100 level
student in an office at the institution's College of Development Studies (CDS).
His
name enters the history books as the first postgraduate student to be expelled
in the institution.
Two
other students, believed to be lovers, were also expelled after being found
with “sex-alcohol unclad video [porn] on their phones”.
The
lovers, also unnamed, are in their 400 and 300-level partner.
Covenant
University was recently named the number one university in Nigeria and West Africa as well as the 15th best university in Africa according in the 2015 Webometrics Rankings of Universities.
The faith based institution is owned by the World Mission Agency
(WMA), an arm of Living Faith Church Worldwide, also known as Winners Chapel,
founded by Dr. David Oyedepo.
Students
are expected to live very astute, religiously correct lives.
There
have however been frequent run-ins between the students and management over the
stringent rules.
