It was reported that the delegations which included the Deputy Commander of Czech Airforce, Brigadier General Sebesta Jeromir, revealed that the aircrafts the Federal Government intends to purchase are designed with GPS that is active both in the day and night.
He said the GPS would help the Nigeria government effectively monitor her vast borders. The delegation assured that Czech Republic can also help Nigeria to combat the terrorism which is currently bedeviling the country.
The envoy further revealed that the cooperation between Nigeria and Czech Republic is beyond combating terrorism to much wider and deeper areas.
Responding to the delegations, Abba Moro stressed that it was imperative for Nigeria to collaborate with the Czech Republic on issues of internal security as well as border management.

The minister expressed optimism that the delegation visit would further strengthen the relationship between both countries. He also expressed believes that the procurement of the aircraft will supplement the efforts of the Nigeria Immigration Service, NIS, in fighting cross border crimes and insecurity.
It would be recalled that Federal Government’s interest in helicopters and intentions to purchase more of modern machines were propelled by the tragic crash of NAF Mi-35 this July in the troubled Borno State.
In reaction to the crash, President Goodluck Jonathan ordered the immediate replacement of the crashed jet, and it is believed that Russian-made models are the most preferable amongst others in the market.
Also, it was earlier reported that the Federal Government had shown interest in purchasing aircraft from Russia but following the crisis in Ukraine and subsequent sanctions imposed on the Russian Federation by the Western world is believed to stall the timely delivery and proper execution of the contract.
