Suave entertainer and astute businessman,D'banj who left Mo'Hits for
GOOD Music continues to win our hearts but we bet you didn't know these 5
things about him.
Dapo Daniel Oyebanjo, Known as D'banj is a
Nigerian singer-songwriter. D'banj made his name under former Mo'Hits
record when Don Jazzy was the producer where they made hits together
until they went their separate ways.
Currently
signed to GOOD Music, 34-year-old D'banj delved into business and has
continued to rule both worlds consistently. An energetic performer with
charming personalty, a great sense of style (we still don't get why he
wears 2 wristwatches at a time!), an astute business man and more D'banj
wins with us everytime.
Here are 5 things you didn't know about our Monday Crush:
- D'banj once worked as a security guard in London. He used to work night shifts as a security guard when he got to the UK in 2001.
- He planned to study Mechanical Engineering in London when he got there in 2001, he suspended this to finally choose music.
- He was introduced to Harmonica- which he plays well- by his brother, Femi Oyebanjo who died at age 17 in a plane crash
- D'banj's first endorsement came on the waves of his first album with an energy drink called Power Fist
- D'banj is Nigeria's first United Nations Youth Ambassador for Peace and the founder of Koko Foundation For Youth and peace development.
