PDP Aspirant Promises Lagosians New Dawn

Less than five months before the 2015 gubernatorial election in Lagos State, an aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Akintoye Branco-Rhodes, has promised to serve Lagosians diligently, if elected as the governor.
The aspirant spoke during a novelty match organised in his honour by youths in Alimosho area of Lagos state at the weekend, saying that the time had come for Lagosians to vote for change.

He also stated that is not intimidated by the big names in the race, adding that the more the merrier.
“Politics is all about merit. We are not afraid of competition. We’re going to the primaries and we believe the people will choose the candidate of their choice. It’s about the people. We are hoping that they will choose someone who understands the issues,” Branco-Rhodes said.

Speaking at the occasion, the Deputy Chairman of the PDP in Alimosho, Hon. Abu Ojeikere, commended Branco-Rhodes for visiting the area to assess the situation on ground.
Ojeikere informed that Alimosho lacks many social amenities despite its huge population which he described as the biggest local government area in the country.
“They are only interested in our votes. You can see how dilapidated our roads are. Apart from roads, there are no street lights. If you build a house here, you provide everything for yourself,” the lawmaker said.
