(Getty Images) Gabrielle Union's NBA star husband, Dwyane Wade gave a group of fans the middle finger during a recent game between Miami Heat and Charlotte Hornets for making nasty comments about his wife.
According to Fox Sports Online, the Miami Heat point guard has been fined with $15,000 by the National Basketball Association (NBA) as a result of his reaction.
Meanwhile, responding to his punishment, January 26, Wade stated that the association could do better in protecting the players:

He told the Associated Press, 'the NBA is an unbelievable league, and I’m one of the first ones to be doing NBA Cares and all these things in the community, but they need to protect us a little more,
'They need to do a better job of protecting players in the arena. It’s open game on us. We’re big boys, we can take it, but everyone has their breaking point.'
He further argued that he initially tried to ignore the disruptive fans, but as the night went on, the disrespectful comments about his wife worsened.
'You can talk about me all day,' he added. 'I really don’t care what you say about me because I know at the end of the day when I walk off that court most of those guys would see me in the back hallway and want to shake my hand. When it gets too personal about your family, that’s too far. But it’s not going to stop.'
Even though his coach Erik Spoelstra agreed that fans can get really out of hand, he also stated that this doesn’t give players the right to act out of character.
Wade isn;t the first black athlete to respond to rude fans. Carmelo Anthony also exchanged obscenities with Kevin Garnett on the court a while ago after he said some not-so-nice things about his wife LaLa Anthony.
Do you think history was repeating itself?
