Explosion kills 2 in Yola
The blast occurred On Sunday, January 4, in the Maiha Local Government
Area of the state and was believed to have been caused by an Improvised

An explosion in Yola, Adamawa State has claimed two lives, according to reports.
The
blast occurred On Sunday, January 4, in the Maiha Local Government Area
of the state and was believed to have been caused by an Improvised
Explosive Device (IED).
The device was said to
have exploded after some young residents of the area lit a fire to warm
themselves and mistakenly threw an unidentified object into the flames.
The incident has been confirmed by the Chairman of the Local Government, Mohammed Jibrilla.
“The
development was followed by an explosion which killed one person on the
spot while the second died shortly before admission at the Yola
Specialist Hospital. Two other injured youths are now on admission in
the hospital,” Jibrilla said.
The incident was also confirmed by the Police Public Relations Officer for the state, Othman Abubakar.
