The South African Football Association, SAFA have confirmed that they will be hosting the friendly between the Super Eagles of Nigeria and the Bafana Bafana.
The Super Eagles of Nigeria will be facing their South African counterpart in an international friendly on Sunday March 29.
The Bafana Bafana were chosen as replacement for the Black Stars of Ghana for the friendly.
The
match, which will take place at the Mbombela Stadium in Nelspruit, is
coming over four months after a 2-2 draw in Uyo between the two teams.
That
result in Akwa Ibom prevented the Super Eagles from defending their
title at the recently concluded African Nations Cup Championship in
Equatorial Guinea which was won by Ivory Coast.
The Mbombela Stadium hosted Nigeria’s first two matches at the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations.
Both
the Eagles and Bafana Bafana are preparing for the 2017 Africa Cup of
Nations qualifiers and the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifying series.
The upcoming friendly will be the 12th meeting between Nigeria and the Bafana Bafana South Africa senior men national teams.
