The man who stole Lupita Nyong'O's alleged $150,000 worth Oscar dress by Calvin Klein has been freed of the crime.
The
high fashion brand had no interest in pursuing the case after they got
their dress back, reports L.A County Sheriff's Department.
However,
it's assumed C.K wasn't looking for another attention after what was
considered a 6,000 worth of real pearls dress suddenly became 'fake',
thanks to the thief who tried to sell it.
The bad
guy had called TMZ on Friday, February 27 and indignantly said he took 2
of the pearls down to the L.A. Garment District for appraisal, only to
learn they were fake and worthless.
He later returned the dress to The London West Hollywood hotel and left it under a sink in a 2nd floor bathroom.
