Former President, Olusegun Obasanjo on Saturday, January 10, made a surprise appearance at the wedding of President Goodluck Jonathan’s daughter, Inebharapu Paul.
Obasanjo’s
presence at the ceremony came as a shock due to his recent criticisms
of Jonathan made worse by the publication of his controversial
autobiography “My Watch”.
In the book, Obasanjo describes Jonathan as selfish and callous while also accusing him of encouraging corruption.
Obasanjo’s arrival at the event and subsequent introduction were reportedly greeted with loud applause by other guests.
Jonathan in his vote of thanks also recognized the ex-President saying: “Let me appreciate our father, President Olusegun Obasanjo, for being here with us. Thank you for coming.”
Obasanjo recently accused Jonathan of depleting Nigeria’s oil savings and thus causing the country’s economic woes.
