A 28- year-old man identified as Abiodun Ojedokun, was on Monday sentenced to six days of community service by a Somolu Magistrates’ Court, Lagos, for stealing a large pot of soup, NAN reports.
The accused was arraigned on a three count- charge of conspiracy, burglary and stealing before Magistrate, Mrs. Bola Osunsanmi.
ASP Akinlabi Adegoke, the police prosecutor told the court that Ojedokun, whose address is unknown, on September 20 at 2.00am at the Onipanu Model Market in Somolu, Lagos State, connived with some others, now at large and broke into one Mrs. Gbadamosi Sanni’s shop.
The prosecutor said the accused broke the locks and stole the woman’s large pot of soup, valued at N8, 000.
Adegoke informed the court that the offences were contrary to Sections 285, 308 and 409 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.
Ojedokun pleaded guilty to all the charges preferred against him and asked the court for leniency, claiming that he committed the offence because he was starving.
Delivering her judgment, Magistrate Osunsanmi, sentenced the accused to 48 hours of community service for each of the three-count charge, after he had pleaded guilty to them.
“Based on the facts of this case before this court, the confirmed report and your plea of leniency, I hereby sentence you to 48 hours community service on each of the counts of the charge,” the Magistrate said.

Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi, has burst the bubbles on why he is no longer friends with the First Lady, Dame Patience Jonathan.
According to AIT, the once cordial friendship between Nigeria’s first lady and the governor of Rivers State got soled when he refused to share the state money with her.
Amaechi made this shocking revelation yesterday, October 24th, at the graduation ceremony of the Pioneer graduands of the Ignatus Ajuru University of Education held at Rumuolumeni in Rivers state.

“Remember, when I became governor, I fought militancy. Right there where you built a new house used to be a hole where they pass into the river and escape. The security report reached me and I came here and chased the militants away. I asked them to fence the school premises and block the hole. I have to protect you because it is my responsibility.
“Some of the militants went to Lagos, Ivory Coast, Ghana etc. Today, they are back because the wife of the President bought them back to protest against me.” I refused to give them money in Abuja because if I do that, I won’t be able to carry out any developmental projects or finish the road from Rumuolumeni to Rumuepirikom. The quarel between me and the wife of the Preseident is because she said I should bring your money, Rivers peoples money and share with her,” Governor Amaechi alleges.

“Now that you are graduates, you are eligible voters that can use your voters card to change society. Ask yourself this question that I have always asked Rivers people. What have we (Rivers people) done to President Jonathan that he has refused to bring any project to Rivers state.

“We had to fight them before they could do the East-West road. I had to abuse the federal government and they abused me back before they could do the work you now see on that road. Our President, from the South-South, has taken oil wells from Soku in Rivers state to Bayelsa state.

“What about the 41 oil wells in Etche that was given to Abia state? Is the President or his wife from Abia? Why do they want us to suffer? If President Jonathan comes back to power in 2015, Rivers state economy will crash,” the governor concluded.

It would be recalled that many other notable Nigerians have lambasted the president, calling him an insensitive leader who is only concerned with his 2015 political ambition.

Also present at the ceremony in London were The Prince of Wales and his wife Camela.

A World Health Organization (WHO) official has said that there could be up to 10,000 new cases of Ebola per week within two months if efforts to curb the disease are not intensified.
Assistant Director-General of the body, Dr. Bruce Aylward has predicted that 'a lot more people will die' if cases of the disease are allowed to continue spiralling out of control.
Aylward added that for the past one month, there have been about 1,000 new cases recorded per week.
The WHO also revealed that the death toll of the current Ebola outbreak, which is the worst ever recorded, has reached 4,447.

Controversial popular Nollywood critic, Charles Novia has come for Nigeria’s number 1 blogger, over the recent stir about the shutting down of her blog.
The issue which made Google to bring down the Number 10 Alexa-rated blog  but was restored back after 24 hours caused a major outrage on Twitter due to the part Mr Aye Dee took in the matter.

However, Nollywood director who is known for lending his voice on ongoing issues and also looking critically deep and making rather controversial points about those issues has once again made his opinion known about the sad happening.
While many believed the reports of the blogger and were glad she was back, Charles is of the opinion that the whole incidence was stage-managed. In his words, he said that it was in a bid to ‘up’ the ratings of Linda Ikeji on Blogger from number 10 to maybe number 1 made Linda and the Mr Aye Dee guy to ‘stage the drama’.

Here’s what he said:
I repeat; this Linda Ikeji and Aye Dee new twist is one big bullshit! This is not about bringing anyone down now, as some usual suspects would allude stupidly. This is about being pragmatic and investigative, using your brains for the purpose they are meant for.
I’m not in any way taken in by the story and though I had publicly sympathised with Linda in other posts when her blog was facing copyright issues, this new twist understandably brings certain aspects of her credibility to question and scrutiny.
Now, get where I’m coming from in this theory as an analyst and critic. I’m not a lawyer. The lawyers will have their own opinions. I am an authority in matters of body language and media histrionics both visual and written. Part of the job sniffs lies out or things which don’t just add up. And this story does not add up.

This looks like a contrived episode of ‘Scandal’ or some Hollywood TV series. A guy chats with you for years and is your pal whom you have never seen and after a while disappears from the scene, then resurfaces as The Grudge Genie in your life when you are down and says he was scorned by you, whose success he claims he orchestrated and in a show of obtuse repentance and yet another manipulation, he promises to put things back to normal. Season One.
Many things about this story demands microscopic analysis. First, there is something fake about the chats both parties had which Linda reproduced on her blog. Secondly, couldn’t this Aye Dee fella, smart as he makes himself to be, have simply initiated the chat and when Linda replied at the initial stages after introducing himself as the long lost mentor, asked for her number and personally call her on the phone to have a private conversation with her? But he went on chatting and ‘foolishly’ put himself at risk of a law suit. This is not the mistake of a stalker or a smart techie. This is a deliberate ploy, if you ask me.
The part where he says he will make her the richest woman in blogging or something like that is what raises the red flag. That by itself seems like the whole premise of this plan. Like ‘Let’s create a huge scandal which would drive the mother of all traffic to your new blog and even your old blog. Let’s move you up from number 10 on the rankings to Number 1′. This kind of tech deviant could very well plan that kind of stuff. And he needed a Jay Z/Beyonce Elevator reconstruction on a tech scale to perfect such plans.
And for those women going emotional over the aspects of the Stalking angles of the story, perhaps that is just what was intended? Knowing that almost every woman must have had issues with stalking one time or the other in their lives and that is a convenient emotional subterfuge to draw the attention away from the prodding questions everyone would normally ask.
There are a few other red flags in the whole story which I will leave out for now. But it is instructive to know that my public scrutiny of this story is as much a holding to account both Aye Dee and Linda as it is an airing of my personal angst over a saga gone South.
Perhaps I have watched too many detective movies but if that be the case, thank God I have then. It has helped in improving on my sense of investigation. And I am very sure a couple of investigative journalists will sniff out the wobbly aspects of this story till the end.
I stand by my suspicions. And not because I don’t like Linda, who’s someone I respect for her achievements but because she is as much liable to be scrutinised in this case as she does those she writes about on her blog in the past.

However, Linda Ikeji, has refuted claims of playing a media stunt to hype her blog into the number one position in the whole of Africa. She made it known in a telephone chat with YES Magazine, saying:
“No, it was not a stunt. How can it be a stunt? Why would it be a stunt when the deletion made me lose a lot of money? How would I purposely take down my blog and lose money, all because of a media stunt? It only taught me a serious lesson and I’m telling you this because it is only your friends that will come after you, not strangers”.

When some artistes become popular there are always people who would accuse them of Satanism. Probably they can “smell the devil” or something like this. Some Nigerian music stars are not an exception. 
1. Iron Maiden
Christians accused rock stars of Satanism when they released their album called The Number of the Beast in 1982. The group has even been banned from playing their songs in Chile, South America, because of these accusations.
2. Beyonce

According some conspiracy theories, the name of baby daughter of Beyoncé and Jay Z spelled backwards mean Lucifer’s daughter in Latin.

3. Paul McCartney
A man who wrote a song “Let it be” is also accused in relationships with the devil. His song Revolution 9, which when played backwards is supposed to say “Turn me on, dead man … turn me on, dead man … turn me on, dead man” is a “proof”.
4. AC/DC
Here is another example of playing a song backwards. If you put a song Highway to Hell backwards it would allegedly sound all sorts of Satanic messages. Also, a notorious serial killer Richard Ramirez said he had been inspired by the band AC/DC.

5. Charly Boy
Charly Boy is a controversial Nigerian entertainer and accusations of being a Satanist are only adding him more fans. All his sculls, outfits, photo sessions with snakes and black polishing nails are an integral part of his dark image.
6. Led Zeppelin
Here are the thing with playing songs. But for this time a song Stairway to Heaven has a secret message which is an ode to Satan. Also one magazine once accusing guitarist Jimmy Page chanting Satanic mantras while standing over drummer John Bonham as he lay dying.
7. The Eagles
There are plenty of versions on what is a song Hotel California about. Some tell that it is about hedonism and greed of its era, but there are always some people who see Satanism everywhere.

8. Marilyn Manson
As a little boy he went to a Christian school and studied there for 10 years. Then he dropped religion and began to rock the stage. Of course, his actions, lyrics and personality are unacceptable by the majority of religious people.

The rumors about Denerele started after he made several photos with Charly Boy and had several outfits in his style. And of course he became followed by the same accusations.
10. Elvis
According to some sources, Elvis also was a Satanist because his parents were not Christians, but Scientologists. And, another notable accusation, “His gospel music was despicable.”
