Abubakar Shekau: Boko Haram leader vows to defeat multinational force in new video
Shekau said this in a 28-minute video which was one of three posted online by the sect on Monday, February 9.
The leader of Boko Haram, Abubakar Shekau has vowed to defeat a new multinational team of soldiers constituted to fight against the sect.
Shekau said this in a 28-minute video which was one of three posted online by the sect on Monday, February 9.
“Your alliance will not achieve anything. Amass all your weapons and face us. We welcome you,” Shekau said.
“We never rose up to fight Africa. We rose up to
fight the world. We are going to fight the world on the principle that
whoever doesn’t obey Allah and the Prophet to either obey or die or
become a slave,” he added.
“You send 7,000 troops? Why don’t you send 70
million? This is small. Only 7,000? By Allah, it is small. We can seize
them one-by-one. We can seize them one-by-one,” the terrorist leader said further.
The videos, which have since been taken down, are
also said to show a man being stoned to death for adultery and another
having his hand amputated for stealing.
The multinational force consists of soldiers from
Niger, Chad, Cameroon and Nigeria, all of whom have suffered attacks
from the sect.
