turn him 'straight'.

given a weird form of corrective rape when family members forced him to
have sex with his own mother.
The action was taken to cure him, says Deepthi Tadanki, a filmmaker who was quoted by The Independent in a report.
“Family members forced a gay boy to have sex with his mother, in a bid to turn him 'straight',” Tadanki told the Times of India.
Homosexuality is taboo in many parts of India.
In 2013, the Supreme Court criminalised gay sex.
Section 377 of the Indian Penal Code bans “carnal intercourse against the order of nature with any man, woman or animal”.
Corrective
rape, a term coined in South Africa, denote a situation where victims
are raped because of their sexual orientation or gender identity with
the aim of turning them heterosexual, or normal as some will put it.
Another corrective rape victim, Mvuleni Fana, was gang raped by four men who said they would make her a woman.
