Believe it or not, food and sex
have a long, complicated history together and the turn-on process could
be cooked in the kitchen.
Still, the truth is that what we eat can have sexual effects on both psychosomatic and physiological levels.
Yesterday we gave you a list of foods to eat if you are you looking to boost your sex appetite – a lot of people found it handy and useful.
As we know a coin has two sides and this is the reason why Wha’anda brings you some foods that you should avoid if you want your sex drive to stay with you.
Here you go:
- Alcohol. Alcohol may let you lighten up and get social, but it can also be a major enemy to your sex life and fertility. When you have too much alcohol in your body, your sexual desire falls, arousal and sensitivity decreases, and you may even be more likely to make unsafe decisions about sex. Reduce your bottle count!
- Meat. Meat is a good source of protein and zinc but it also has fat and cholesterol. This means you should avoid a constant meat-heavy diet which can cause type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease and other health problems with negative impact on sexual function. Cut down on the suya bro!
- Fried and fast food. Ah, fried potatoes, chips and the like can taste really good, but they are not too good for you – in excess that is. Most of fried and fast foods have high levels of "bad fats" – like saturated and trans fat. These affect your heart negatively and cause fat build-up in the arteries, thereby inhibiting blood flow. It also puts you at risk of type 2 diabetes, known to cause sexual health problems in both men and women. Now, if you must fry, use plant (vegetable) oil and limit consumption.
- Cheese. Are you a cheese lover? If yes, you might need to cut down on that luxury because it could be loaded with synthetic hormones which may contain synthetic hormones if derived from cow’s milk. These could mess up with your body’s natural production of hormones, including estrogen and testosterone. Not good.
- Mint leaves. Many people have been asked to eat mint leaves for ailments like bad breath. However, when the use is too much, you are at risk of low testosterone – it is lowered by the menthol in mint lowers. This in turn kills your sex drive.
It must be noted that none of the foods mentioned here are bad in themselves.
The important things is not to eat them too much.
