Yobe Police Confirm Attacks In Mosques
Yobe police confirmed the attacks launched on two mosques of Potiskum yesterday evening.
Speaking with NAN on the bombings, the state police spokesperson Nansak Chewang said:
"We are still working on the details to get the authentic figures of casualties in the bomb attacks in Potiskum."
It would be recalled that the two explosions rocked the town while
Muslims in the area were preparing for evening prayers. According to
unofficial information provided yesterday, both blasts claimed 6 lives.
Although no group has claimed responsibility for the act, it is
believed that the attacks were launched by the dreaded Boko Haram sect.
Its members continue bombings in the country even despite the strong military presence in the 3 northern states: Adamawa, Borno and Yobe.
The latest reports said 40 Boko Haram suicide bombers sneaked into Borno capital Maiduguri Sunday.
Two days ago, July 28, Kano was hit by two bombings both carried by suspected female suicide bombers: one at NNPC Mega Filling Station at Hotoro Quarter and the other close to Shoprite shopping mall.
