Suspects Nabbed With Corpse Of 3-Year-Old Girl Found Innocent

Two men who were reportedly caught at Osisioma Junction, Aba, with the corpse of a 3-year-old girl concealed in a sack, have been released by the Abia state police command.

The suspects, Chibuike Anibuife , 25, and Jonathan Nwogu, 45 were found to be innocent after thorough investigation.

According to Vanguard report, the Police Public Relations Officer, Geoffrey Ogbonna, of the Command’s  headquarters in Umuahia, said the corpse had been genuinely handed over to the duo by the father of the deceased for burial.

The suspects had escaped being lynched by a curious mob at Aba after they were caught at Enyimba filling station near Ariaria International, Aba, with a sack containing the lifeless body of a child.

The suspects had insisted that they were contacted by the father of the deceased child to help him bury the corpse.

They were later paraded by the state’s Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Mr. Andy Dateer.

This is not the first time someone would be caught with the corpse of a child. On July 20, a woman, with the looks of a mad person had been caught with a decomposing body of a 5-year-old boy in Mile 2 area of Lagos.

Two week ago, the police saved a young man was saved from being lynched by a mob after he was caught with a corpse at Alaba International Market, Lagos.
