Venice International Film Festival

This year sees the 71st Venice International Film Festival, organised by the Venice Biennale – the major contemporary art show that takes place every two years.  The film festival will be directed by Alberto Barbera, and along with retrospectives and tributes, the festival promotes international cinema in all forms - as art, entertainment and industry. The Biennale board has announced that the Sala Darsena screening theatre is to be renovated and enlarged.
