Mufti of Ilorin Died, Kwara Governor Expressed Condolences
Kwara State Governor, Dr Abdulfatah Ahmed, and the Emir of
Ilorin, Dr. Ibrahim Zulu-Gambari, expressed their condolences over the
death of eminent Islamic scholar and Mufti of Ilorin, Sheikh Soffiyullahi Kamaldeen Habibulahi Al-Adabiy.
Kwara Governor, in a statement issued by his Chief Press
Secretary, Alhaji Abdulwahab Oba, described the passage of the Mufti who
passed away on Tuesday, August 19, as a painful and monumental loss to
Muslim Ummah in particular and Nigeria at large.
According to governor Ahmed, Sheikh Al-Adabiy was a veritable pillar
of support of his administration. He also recalled how passionately the
Mufti prayed for him and the state during the just concluded month of
Ramadan.
The governor expressed condolences to the family of the eminent
scholar, the Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union (IEDPU), the
Turaki of Ilorin, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, and the entire people of
the state on the death of the highly respected Mufti.
He urged Kwarans to use the next eight days to pray for the peaceful
repose of the souls of the Mufti and other scholars who departed before
him.
