Man Stabs Commercial Sex Worker In Lagos
Shola Egunle, a 26-year-old graduate of one of the private
polytechnics in Lagos has allegedly stabbed a commercial sex worker, Joy
Osasuwa in Lagos.
Vanguard reports that Shola who resides at 17, Dafunmi Street,
Iyana Ipaja patronized Joy Osasuwa, the said commercial sex worker at 3
Star Hotel, located at Otto Railway Crossing in Oyingbo area of Lagos on
August 12. Shola, who is a 2009 graduate of Banking and Finance,
refused to give the commercial sex worker the agreed amount of money
that was said before the act, saying he has not completed the act.
The commercial sex worker, who does not want to be cheated, demanded
for her N800 balance, as against the meager N100 she was given. It was
during this process that Shola beat up the victim severely before
stabbing her on the breast and on her back with a kitchen knife which he
found in her apartment.
However, Shola was charged before an Ebute Metta Magistrate’s court
sitting at oyingbo for allegedly stabbing a commercial sex worker. The
defendant is facing a count charge bordering on assault proffered
against him by the police.
According to the prosecutor, inspector A. U. Moses, the offence is
punishable under section 243 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos state of
Nigeria, 2011. The defendant was however allowed to be bailed at the sum
of N200, 000 with two responsible sureties who have evidences that they
have being paying their taxes for the past three years.
This was after the defendant’s counsel, Obi Simon told the court that
both parties have agreed to settle the matter out of court and urged
the court to grant the defendant bail in a most liberal term and adjourn
for a very short date.
It would be recalled that recently, a couple was severely stabbed in Upper Sakponba in Ikpoba Okha Local Government Area of Edo state.
