The death toll for the current Ebola outbreak in West Africa has now risen to 7,693, the World Health Organization (WHO) said on Friday, December 26.

The death toll for the current Ebola outbreak in West Africa has now risen to 7,693, the World Health Organization (WHO) said on Friday, December 26.
19,695 confirmed cases of the disease have also been recorded since the outbreak began, according to the WHO.
The
latest report shows that the casualty figure increased by 175 and the
number of infections by 355 since the last statistics were released on
December 22.
Meanwhile, Sierra Leone has overtaken
Liberia as the country with the most cases of the disease accounting
for 9,203 cases and 2,655 deaths as at December 24.
Transmission of the disease in Liberia has however shown a steady decline in the last one month.
