Mikel To Fight For Jersey At Chelsea

After all the speculations over where Nigeria international midfielder, John Obi Mikel, would be playing his football trade next season, he has finally announced that he would fight for his place at Barclays English Premier League club, Chelsea.
It would be recalled that Mikel lost his place in the Chelsea first team following the arrival of Serbian midfielder, Nemanja Matic, in January.
It was for new pastures but Mikel has decisively moved to quash suck speculations.
Only John Terry and Petr Cech have spent more years in Chelsea than Mikel.
Though Didier Drogba initially signed for the Blues two years before Mikel, but having been away for a couple of years, the West African pair will both be beginning their ninth campaign at Stamford Bridge.

Speaking on his illustrious career with Chelsea at the weekend, Mikel told the club’s official website, www.chelseafc.com: “I’ve been in this team for a long time now. I came when I was 18 and I’m 27 now. Time flies.
“I’ve seen the good times and I’ve enjoyed the good times with this team. At the same time I’ve shared bad times with the likes of John Terry and Petr Cech. There have been lots of good times in the nine years I’ve been here. Whenever there was a bad one we’ve always come together as a team and we’ve always managed to turn it around.”
Chelsea have splashed the cash this summer with Cesc Fabregas, Felipe Luis and Diego Costa among the latest arrivals and Mikel is looking forward to integrating with the new stars and help Chelsea win silverware.
“The character and the belief that we have in this team, from the players that have been here a long time, I’m sure that will transform into the new players. It’s always a big pressure playing for this club. You always expect to win trophies every year so I’m sure the new players that have come in will help us win more trophies.

“They will know what representing this team is all about. Wearing the blue shirt and representing Chelsea is a privilege. I’m sure they will learn from us and we will be able to teach them one or two things,” he said.
Now he has returned to club duty the midfielder is already anticipating the start of the Premier League season. His mind is focused on one target in particular.
“It’s been five or six days now I’ve been training,” Mikel said. “I’m getting back up to speed. Training is going very well. It’s been tough but you need this to have a good pre-season, and then we can look forward to the season.
“Hopefully it will be a very successful one for the team. Everyone wants to achieve something. We want to win trophies. We didn’t do that last season but this season we are all hoping we can have a good season and win some trophies.”
It would be recalled that it was speculated some weeks ago that Mikel might be offloaded to the Serie A to play for Inter Milan.
With this latest development, it seems Mikel would be one of the experienced players Coach Jose Mourinho wants to bank on to win his first trophy in his second spell in England.
The London club was without a trophy last season, a record that was unlike the Portuguese tactician when he first coached Chelsea.

He left Cambodia in mid-April before returning on June 9 when APLE started to monitor him again when he is alleged to have taken an underage girl to a rented room.
The charity spokesman claimed Jones was seen promising to pay the rent for one family.
Four of six girls who were questioned claimed they had been abused by Jones.
On June 27, 2014, Michael Jones was officially charged by Phnom Penh’s court prosecutor. He has been charged with carrying out indecent acts against minors and paying for child prostitution. If found guilty he faces eight years in jail.
One of his alleged victims was put into secure accommodation while the other three were returned to their families.

According to a statement made public on Monday, 4 August, 2014, by APC’s  National Publicity Secretary, Lai Mohammed, all the ruling party’s bigwigs are expected to arrive in Osun from Tuesday and remain in the state until Saturday’s election, as a way of showing the party’s unalloyed support for incumbent Governor Rauf Aregbesola.
The party’s spokesman also added that the directive covers all political appointees in states under the control of the APC, especially Special Advisers and Commissioners.

The APC said it perceives the forthcoming election as a celebration of democracy and a harvest time for the party, whose candidate has worked so hard to implement his mandate and make life more abundant for the people of the state.
The ruling party in the state also called on its members in Osun to be vigilant ahead of the poll, considering the myriad of desperate tactics being perfected by the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to reap where it did not sow.

It would be recalled that the APC had accused the PDP of planning to massively rig the forthcoming governorship election in Osun.
The APC had alleged that the PDP has underground intentions to make the Osun Guber election which comes up Saturday, 9th August, work in its favour by crude or rude means.

Photos From War Between Isreal And Palestine

As the Israel and Palestine war enters Day 28, millions of Gaza residents have been turned homeless with over 270,000 crammed into 90 over-populated United Nations shelters.

The highly heart breaking war has made many to be displaced with no running water and even electricity. Over 1,700 Palestinians and 69 Israelis have been reportedly killed. Some of the shelters housed by Gaza children have been bombed, killing so many of the children, women hit and even medics are unable to work due to the exhaustion of medical supplies.

Although the warring nations have been on the feud for decades, this particular one started on July 17th after Gaza attacked Israel with rockets following failed peace negotiations. Israel replied with both air and ground invasion of Gaza City….and now, it’s becoming unbearable.

However, these claims did not prevent a bloody conflict several months later.
The Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, stated on August 4, 2014, Monday that his government was “sorry for any attack that unintentionally hits civilians”, but, at the same time, he blamed Hamas radicals of turning UN facilities into “terrorist hotspots”.

I Will Find Out Who Is Behind This — Danagogo Talks Chika Amalaha Drug Scandal

Nigerian Sports Minister and head of the NSC, Dr Tammy Danagogo has come out and talked of the emotional trauma he suffered over Weightlifter Chika Amalaha who was stripped of her gold medal due to testing positive to drugs in Glasgow.
The minister said that such an act was a huge disgrace to the nation and has vowed that he will find out who and whom were responsible.
Chika Amalaha had won her event in the Games but her gold in the Women’s Weightlifting 53 kilogram competition was nullified after she failed her drug test.
The World Anti Doping Agency WADA have come out and vowed they will get to the end of this, as they can’t understand how a 16 year old could get her hands on banned substances — amiloride and hydrochlorothiazide.
Danagogo said: "My heart bleeds for this 16-year-old girl. She looks too innocent to commit such an offence. She is naive. It’s so unfortunate because it was this same girl that did so well in Gabrone, Botswana. And she was tested and was certified clean. We must get to the roots of this and the coaches, and our anti-doping officials have questions to answer.
"Why didn’t they do their job before coming here to disgrace Nigeria?”, a visibly pained and angry Danagogo asked. For a young girl like this, we had good plans for her.
"She is still in shock over what happened to her. She ignorantly took what she took for weight reduction. It is devastating to me and definitely we’ll look at the level of involvement of her coaches, officials, crew and our anti-doping officials.
"They ought to have detected this before coming to disgrace Nigeria here. It’s disappointing that we have highly placed anti-doping officials who did not do their jobs.
"It is embarrassing and severe punishments will be meted to those officials either for their involvements or negligence as a deterrent. This disgrace is not only on one girl but on the whole of the contingent and the nation. Enough is enough”, the minister warned.
Chika had won the Women’s Weightlifting 53 kilogram in the Commonwealth Games but later failed her drug test.
She then asked for the B sample to be tested but she also failed it, making the games commission to ban her from further participation in the event and take her gold from her.
